The Author
John
Clifton became an author when he co-wrote a book with his wife Josée
Clerens, Sparky Fights Back: A Little Dog’s Big Battle Against Cancer. This
best-seller chronicled the miraculous survival of their lymphoma-stricken
pet. In 2007 he authored Stop the Shots! Are Vaccinations Killing Our Pets?
That highly researched work, which
investigated the pros and cons of animal vaccines, became the most
popular book on the topic, and remains so to this day.
When his wife contracted Stage IV
lung cancer in 2012, John began intensive research on alternative
cancer treatments. The result of this wealth of research and Josée’s
exceptional outcome led him to write the present volume. John has had a
long and varied career as an artist, writer, composer, lyricist, musician,
teacher, and investigative journalist.
Trained as a graphic artist (BFA
Carnegie Melon 1957), John worked in advertising in his post-college years,
only to switch to music in 1962, and continued to write and
compose for the theater for most of his life. Having written dozens of
musicals, his work has been presented on Broadway, off-Broadway,
television, and recordings. Later in life he taught in professional and
private schools.
